Joy Mitchell joined the Office of Student Conduct in 2016 as an assistant director, overseeing organizational conduct matters. Now, as acting director, Joy's responsibilities include training campus partners on the student conduct process, investigation of alleged incidents, policy develop and implementation of restorative practices in the conduct process. Joy is an alumna of NIU, earning a bachelor's degree in sociology and a master in clinical mental health education. Mitchell brings experience previous experience as an academic advisor and former NIU police officer.
Kathy Hodgkinson provides administrative support and has been with Student Conduct for over thirteen years. She handles correspondence in regard to scheduling student conduct and appeal board hearings, as well as helping to schedule appointments with students.
