Huskie Gaming is a vibrant and welcoming community of casual and competitive video gamers. It's a student-run organization recognized by NIU Recreation and Wellness as an NIU Sport Club.
Join Huskie Gaming
Per our club constitution, “the Huskie Gaming believes that video games and esports should be available to all players and endeavors to open the esports field up to collegiate students.” They welcome and teach new members regardless of experience or ability.
Membership is open to all fee-paying students, faculty and staff. There's no cost for casual play and the fee is minimal to compete.
Attend a Meeting
Be sure to join their Discord server and introduce yourself. Meeting information will be posted on Discord. Generally, they meet every Friday in the Esports Arena (Altgeld 100).
Compete in Club Tournaments
Teams compete in several games against other college club teams in the NECC Conference including League of Legends, Rocket League, Overwatch, Valorant, COD, Rainbow Six Siege and Super Smash Bros. 30-40 students compete on a regular basis. Competitive teams recruit every semester for new players.
